About Black Market Bakery
Black Market Bakery is a great coffee shop. It’s also a great lunch spot. It is also, of course, a great bakery. It is really a place that can fit any mood you need. Need a birthday cake for your friend’s party? You can’t get much better than the cakes they make here. Need a place to have a coffee and get some work done or have a morning meeting? Black Market has lots of seating and serves delicious drip coffee, lattes, and cold brew. Need a lunch spot with good sandwiches? Black Market has you covered there. Need a pecan sticky bun? Psssh.
Everything at Black Market Bakery is baked fresh every day, with no artificial ingredients, so the place is always busy with staff baking and icing cakes or laying out various pastries. It is hard to pass through Black Market without ordering at least one unplanned pastry – like their dripping pecan sticky bun or their ridiculously perfect looking tarts.
For breakfast and lunch, the sandwiches are legit. Our favorite is the spicy Yo Soy Rizo, a breakfast sandwich with egg, avocado, and a homemade spicy soy chorizo. The Hot Potato is also a go to, with a large hash brown patty stuffed into a breakfast sandwich. And then also of course don’t forget a sticky bun. They serve good coffee from local roasters and there are also little items for sale at their curated gift shop, such as chocolate, post cards, and cookies. Also, if you go within one hour of closing they will give you all sorts of pastries for half off.
The inside of the North Park location is cozy, with wooden walls and benches scattered about, with plenty of places to sit and read or chat. The best part their large back patio where you can sit in the sun or shade depending on the weather. The area has plenty of tables, a central fire place, a large chess set, a little green lawn, and a small kids play area.
And remember. The sticky bun.
