About Spicy City
Spicy City has been serving up the best Sichuan food in San Diego for years now out of their tiny unassuming restaurant in Convoy District. You might even say Spicy City has the best Chinese food in San Diego, if Sichuan cuisine is your thing. Get the boiled fish with hot sauce, garlic eggplant, dumplings, cold noodles. Get a million dishes because the menu here is massive. The dining room here is small and spare so it is not a destination location for a night out, but that is how you know it’s good. Take out or delivery work just as well.

A Closer Look
Spicy City is one of the local hole in the wall gems among dozens and dozens in the Convoy District near Clairemont. Convoy is San Diego’s own version of Chinatown, and Little Korea, and Little Tokyo, all rolled into one. The neighborhood is essentially a series of strip malls off some major thoroughfares, but those strip malls are so jam packed full of tasty food and drink goodness that it’s hard to wrap your mind around it.
