One of the best bookstores in San Diego, Bluestocking Books is homey, cozy and exudes that old-timey bookstore vibe. We are talking creaky wooden floors, the smell of well-worn pages read by countless people over the years, the super friendly staff, and of course the small green goblins that sort the books on the shelves. Just the kind of place to gear you up for a great reading session.
Albeit small (as a proper bookstore should be), you can find any genre of book here. And if it is not on the shelf, the staff is more than happy to place an order for you and alert you when it arrives. I have purchased anything here from children’s books for my nephew, 1980’s sci-fi books (the Hyperion series blew me away), and modern ecology or environmental books like Finding the Mother Tree. If you stumble upon a book called the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, best to leave it on the shelves…
