About Harland Brewery
Beer is implied in the name, but Harland is not just one of the best breweries in San Diego, it is also one of the best cafes in San Diego. Hence, why it deserves the esteemed Slashie Award for best brewery/cafe. They have three other tasting rooms, but this cafe experience is currently only available at their South Park location.
Open and spacious with lots of natural light, you can get comfy at their massive U bar, one of their many tabletops, or out on their patio. Being on a quaint street corner makes it extra conducive for an early morning work session, or an afternoon crispy brew with your friends. Even better, this place is family friendly, dog friendly, finch friendly, and just plain friendly.
Harland is a master of their craft, tackling everything from lagers, IPAs, brown ales, sours, and everything in between. Our favorites include their classic Harland Japanese Lager – as crispy as it gets, and their current Missing Linc – a West Coast rye IPA that is on point with the hops. Harland also has a “Beer of the Month,” where they feature a special brew for that month with discounted prices.
Don’t dismiss the food. If you’re a fan of breakfast sandwiches, they have you covered with our favorite Bodega Breakfast sandwich on an English muffin. If you want some lunch or dinner, we recommend getting their fried pickles, the Korean BBQ pulled pork sandwich, or the healthier but still filling protein bowl.

A Closer Look
Harland Brewery began in 2018, and quickly became a staple among beer drinkers and the brewing community. In 2023, Cody Morris took on the Director of Brewing at Harland Brewery, having previously established himself as a top brewer in the industry at places like Mission Brewery, Embolden Beer Company and New Motion Beverages. His leadership continues to maintain Harland’s spot as one of the best breweries in San Diego.
